Bayer Leverkusen have left out Victor Boniface for tomorrow’s UEFA Champions League tie at Brest after he was involved in a car crash.
Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso said the striker suffered minor injuries and was also traumatised from the accident.
Victor Boniface was involved in a car crash just hours after he scored the winning goal in a Bundesliga home game against Eintracht Frankfurt.
“He’s missing for health reasons. He has a small wound on his hand, a small cut on his right foot. But the shock is bigger,” said Alonso.
He said he does not expect the striker, who has scored seven goals across all competitions this season, to be out for long.
