The 2023/2024 season was one that announced in the big time Luton Town forward Elijah Anuoluwapo Oluwaferanmi Ayomikulehin Adebayo, simply known as Elijah Adebayo.
His side Luton Town secured promotion to the Premier League the previous season, when he reached a goal tally of 17 in the English Championship.
This season he actually netted against top English clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City to notch 10 Premier League goals in total even though ‘The Hatters’ will eventually be relegated back to the Championship.
In thee 2023/2024 season, Elijah Adebayo’s first ever season with Luton Town in the Premier league, he played 27 out of 38 matches, starting 15 of them and being introduced in 11, accumulating 1,418 minutes in total.
With respect to shots attempted last season, Elijah took a total of 22 shots, 13 of which were on target and only nine being off target.
He also had a shot conversion rate of 45.45% and a shot accuracy of 59.05%
Even with the fact that he is not necessarily a creator, Elijah had 151 out of 202 passes as successful with 14 key passes, five crosses and a pass completion rate of 74.65%.
Per 90 minutes in the Premier League, Adebayo had an average of 0.63 goals, 0.63 goals contribution and a 0.51 XG(Expected goals) per match.
Although his performance was not too poor, they were not good enough to catch the eye of Super Eagles coach Finidi George as he preferred the likes of Golden boy Vict Osimhen, Paul Onuachu and Tarem Moffi to the Premier League man.
As long as the tall striker continues to score goals, it will not be long before he makes his Super Eagles debut to make his mother proud.
