In the famous colours of Slavia Praha, Igoh Ogbu shone like a million stars as he dropped a stellar performance this past season as a brick wall in defence.
Ogbu kept a total of 14 clean sheets when present for Slavia out of 30 appearances in the First League in the 2023/2024 season.
Whenever Ogbu was on the pitch last season, his team conceded a goal every 141 minutes with a clean sheet ratio of 47% and an average of 0.64 goals for every 90 minutes.
His team Slavia Praha conquered the Fortuna Liga as a result of his defensive prowess.
Across 30 League appearances with 2.546 minutes, Ogbu conceded just 18 goals when in the squad and just five in the Europa League.
Interestingly, Igoh also scored two goals in Europe’s second-tier competition.
However, Igoh played a total of 3,371 minutes last season.
The 2000-born defender had 16 tackles and 25 interceptions, winning a total of 103 out of 178 ground duels, and also winning 74 aerially.
The former Flying Eagles central defender was only dribbled past four times in the Fortuna Liga last season, making 49 clearances and blocking seven shots.
As a result of his brilliant performances game in game out, Slavia Praha had an excellent average of 0.69 goals in the season under review.
Despite being a defender, he only accumulated five bookings (only yellows) , no red cards and an average of 509 minutes per booking and just 21 fouls.
It is now only a matter of time before he makes his full international debut for the Super Eagles, who are on the lookout for new blood in the heart of back four.
