Nike has released new official kits for the Super Eagles, which they will wear beginning from friendlies against arch-rivals Ghana and Mali later this month in Morocco.

The new home kit has white as the dominant colour, with the Nike sign and “NAIJA” around the chest area.
It has a blend of dark green and light green spots and stripes all over, giving it an exquisite and special look, with the Nike and NFF logos on the chest areas also.
Fans have also had their say on these newly designed kits, understandably with different opinions as well as some fresh ideas.
Olanrewaju Adebisi was not excited about the home kit because of the neck design.
“For the first time in three years, the Eagles will wear white as their home kit, this would have been very perfect if Nike had put more effort into making it, but the white jersey looks somehow to me, especially the neck, why the four corners?” he queried.
“Can we compare the Real Madrid and Bayern Munich white to this? No.
“White always brings out unique designs but this, no.”
“I don’t know why Nike always changes our design every time, it should always be an upgrade not totally different from the previous one,” he summed up.
A long-time Super Eagles fan, Akinosho Oluwafemi, suggested that white should not be the dominant colour as the green jersey holds more luck for the country’s team.
He said; “While growing up I even had these superstitious belief that white is not our lucky colour and the Super Eagles usually do not perform in that colour, as opposed to the green jerseys.”
Some other fans took to social media to express their concerns and thoughts about the jerseys.
“We always dish out beautiful jerseys citizens of other countries will proudly put on!” posted a certain Michael
“It has always been the case since the days of our football ancestors.
“I hope and pray this new beautiful jersey gives us beautiful football and wonderful results
“Or I should say we should play beautiful football with our colorful jersey to get awesome results?”
Tochukwu also adds his voice about the new kits.
“Nike has undoubtedly been at its best in making and designing the Nigerian Super Eagles jersey, I think we deserve this with potential world-class performance, to King it.”
Another Super Eagles fan Enoch posted his admiration for the jerseys: “Nike never disappoints when it comes to Nigeria Jersey”.
In a rather strange comment, Chuks wanted the fans who recently lost their lives while watching the Super Eagles at the AFCON to be remembered through the kits.
“The white suppose get sprinkle of red, representing how people dan kpai (died) for Naija and we dey pay memories,” he opined
