A hamstring injury has dashed the hopes of striker Adams Olubi staging a last-ditch comeback to the Flying Eagles in time for the U20 AFCON.
Olubi was the only foreign pro with the Flying Eagles at the U20 AFCON qualifiers in Niger Republic in May 2022.
Coach Ladan Bosso was seriously considering the forceful striker to join his final squad after his search for a proven goal getter was becoming increasingly difficult.
Olubi scored a goal at the qualifiers, but his biggest contribution was the tireless energy with which he kept opposing defenders on their toes.
