FCT were today coasting to a historic football Gold at the 2022 National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta State, courtesy of a goal by Enoch Tanimu before Bayelsa State fought back to win on penalties.
FCT led after Tanimu’s strike, but just five minutes to full time, Bayelsa drew level from the penalty spot.
And in the ensuing penalty shootout, Bayelsa emerged victorious after converting four of their kicks as against the three by the FCT.
Last year, FCT won bronze medal in the football event of the NSF.
They struck Gold at the 2018 NSF when the FCT hosted the multi-sports competition.
