Midfielder Christopher Chinedu and striker Enoch Tanimu stood out as FCT won “Golden Bronze” at the just concluded National Sports Festival in Benin City.
Chinedu, 19, caught the eye with the ease and confidence he broke the attacks of opponents as he asserted himself in defensive midfield.
Eighteen-year-old Tanimu fired four goals including grabbing a last-gasp equaliser in the bronze medal match against Imo State, which was eventually decided on penalties.
“It was great to medal and even though we had hoped for the Gold, this will do for the hard work we put in for the tournament,” Chinedu told SCORENigeria
“Besides the goals, I was delighted with my overall performance at the tournament,” added Tanimu, who was MVP of the 2020 FCT League.
“It was a great experience and we can only learn to be better players after this.”
Chinedu, Tanimu and other medal winners of the FCT contingent are expected to be further rewarded with cash gifts for their achievements.
