It is certainly not going to plan for Goal King of Belgium Paul Onuachu according to the latest revelations of the Genk coach.
Onuachu has yet to make his big transfer as was widely expected courtesy of his impressive tally of goals last season.
He has struggled to justify his selection in the team’s first two games of the new season, before he was dropped from the Genk squad for this weekend’s home game against KV Oostende.
His transfer has stalled with Genk sticking to their guns they will not sell him for less than 30 Million Euros and this has scared away many suitors.
Genk coach John van den Brom has now admitted Onuachu is not finding the situation funny.
“Paul is much withdrawn”, he opened up to Eleven Sports. “I haven’t seen him smile this week, so you know it’s not right.”
This led the coach to have a heart-to-heart talk with his star striker Thursday.
“He agreed with me that he lacks focus and that he was not ready to play,” the Dutch coach further reported.
“But that could be completely different on Tuesday (when Genk host Shakhtar Donetsk in the UEFA Champions League qualifying match).
“Also as a coach I have to be fair to all my players.”
