A thigh injury will again keep out Germany-based defender Jamilu Collins from the Super Eagles AFCON Group B clash against Guinea today, but he could be back for the final group game against Madagascar Sunday.
Guinea Will Be Physically Tougher Warns Moses Simon
The SC Paderborn fullback trained apart from the main squad in yesterday’s workout in Alexandria.
Like another injury-hit defender Shehu Abdullahi, Collins was put through a special recovery drill by the Eagles physio.
Coach Gernot Rohr said he hopes the leftback back returns for the final group game against Madagascar on Sunday.
He featured in the warm-up games against Zimbabwe and Senegal, but was not listed for the team’s opening group game against Burundi on Saturday after he was injured in training the previous day.
His starting XI spot was taken up by FC Torino star Ola Aina, who went on to post a great individual performance including providing a well-crafted assist for Odion Ighalo’s match winner.
