Zaidu Sanusi is fit to start for the Super Eagles in tonight’s AFCON Final against hosts Cote d’Ivoire after he trained fully with the team in Saturday’s final work out.
The FC Porto defender missed the AFCON semifinal against South Africa due to a minor hamstring injury.
As a result, coach Jose Peseiro shuffled his team for Ola Aina to play on the left side of defence, while Bright Osayi-Samuel started on the right side.
Besides the return of Zaidu, Peseiro is not expected to make any changes to his starting XI and he will also maintain the 3-4-3 formation that has worked wonders for him beginning with the Super Eagles group win over the Ivorians.
Super Eagles Starting XI (3-4-3) vs Cote d’Ivoire
Stanley Nwabali – Calvin Bassey, William Ekong (Captain), Semi Ajayi – Ola Aina, Zaidu Sanusi, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi – Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, Moses Simon
