Top Swedish club Kalmar have been spying on midfielder Abdussalam Magashy, who has rejected a contract extension at promotion-seeking Varnamo.
He was offered a new two-year deal by Varnamo, who he helped to win promotion last season.
SCORENigeria has now learnt that Magashy could sign a pre-contract with another interested club by the time the season ends in about three months.
A representative of Kalmar was part of the crowd in a recent game of Varnamo with Magashy, 23, again flying high.
The Kano-born star was recently named the second best player in the Swedish Superettan by a leading newspaper.
He has also scored crucial goals from midfield for his club, who top the table with 33 points from 17 matches, two points clear of their nearesr rivals.
