Top Ligue 1 club Lille are understood to be leading the race to sign sensational KAA Gent striker Gift Orban this summer.
Gift Orban, 20, transferred from Norwegian club Stabaek for more than three Million Euros in January and since then he has scored in every match – 19 goals in 19 appearances.
This is an incredible tally in Belgium and it has not gone unnoticed by several foreign clubs.
Het Nieuwsblad has reported that the French club Lille OSC have already inquired about the youngster.
It would be recalled that they were the ones who splashed 32 Million Euros to snap Jonathan David also from Gent.
However, Lille OSC will face a lot of competition from the likes of Manchester United, Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan and Tottenham, who have shown interest and even sent a scout to the match against Cercle Brugge.
They saw Orban score three times and will probably have returned with a positive report.
HLN also added that Portuguese giants Benfica to the list of clubs chasing the explosive striker.
Orban’s agent also has good contacts with Chelsea after he recently moved young Ivorian striker Datro Fofana to the London club.
Gent are banking on a huge jackpot for Gift Orban as they desperately need the cash to strengthen the team for the new season.
