Former international Taribo West has again warned the Super Eagles to be wary of Riyad Mahrez when they face Algeria Friday next week in a friendly in Austria.
Mahrez fired a late winner for Algeria to go past Nigeria on their way to winning a second AFCON in Egypt last year.
“He is a fantastic player, he is in good shape and I hope we will see him even more effectively to enjoy his technique against Nigeria,” Taribo told Le Buteur.
“I think he is one of the best players in the world, that is why I am very happy with the organisation for this match.
“Algeria are a great football nation with enormous potentials.”
Incidentally, Nigeria beat Algeria 3-0 to win their first-ever AFCON title in 1980.
The North Africans will also beat Nigeria 1-0 to be African champions for the first time 10 years later.
