Swedish club AIK Solna have turned down a chance for Abdussalam Magashy to go out on loan to his former club IFK Varnamo as he has not enjoyed regular first-team football lately.
Magashy made a big impression at Varnamo last year. He scored four goals and three assists in 30 Allsvenskan matches.
The midfielder then chose to move to AIK as a free agent on a contract till 2026.
The 25-year-old has scored two goals in 14 Allsvenskan matches this year, 12 of which as a starter, but lately he has been getting less playing time.
His former club told Varnamo Nyheter that they tried to get him back on loan.
“I have asked the question to AIK’s sporting director Thomas Berntsen about how they view Magashy and whether they can consider loaning him or possibly selling him,” revealed Varnamo sports director Enes Ahmetovic.
“But they believe he will be really good this autumn and will not let him go.”
