Swedish champions BK Hacken have completed the signing of Super Falcons striker Joy Omewa, who they described as a “killer” inside the box.
The 23-year-old striker has signed a contract to run until 2029 after she left English club Nottingham Forest.
BK Hacken Football manager Martin Ericsson highlighted several characteristics of their new acquisition.
“Joy is a physically dominant player with a lot of power, but also a striker who is involved in the game and a killer in the box. Her instinct to score is clear and she is always looking for the next opportunity,” he told the club’s website.
For Omewa, her new club will be the right place to continue her development.
“I know that BK Häcken is a fantastic club that helps its talents develop. I feel that this is the right place for me,” she said.
Even at the national team level, recent times have been eventful.
Omewa recently made her debut for the Super Falcons and scored twice in her first international match.
Now the next challenge awaits. She has been selected by the Super Falcons for the WAFCON in Morocco, which kicks off in a week.
The squad also includes BK Häcken midfielder Halimatu Ayinde.
