Despite his amazing haul of goals in the Belgium this season, Paul Onuachu has been placed on standby for AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho later this month, while FC Lorient striker Terem Moffi and Sadiq Umar have been handed maiden call ups by the national team.
Genk giant striker Onuachu is the leading scorer in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League this season as he has thus far scored 25 goals.
However, he has yet to translate such form for the Super Eagles and that may well explain why he has now been put again on standby by coach Gernot Rohr.
Rohr has also picked two uncapped strikers, Terem Moffi and Sadiq Umar, who have also been firing goals for their respective clubs in Europe.
Moffi, 21, has thus far netted eight goals in Ligue 1 for his modest club.
He was involved in the Golden Eaglets Class of 2015.
His strikes have included a late match winner against champions PSG as well as AS Monaco.
Former Nigeria U23 star Sadiq Umar, on the other hand, has scored 14 goals as UD Almeria gun for automatic promotion back to La Liga.
They are currently second in the standings in the Segunda Division.
