The Super Eagles will Saturday take on their Nemesis at the AFCON, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, for a place in the quarterfinal of the tournament in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Indomitable Lions denied the Super Eagles three AFCON title by the championship game in 1984, 1988 and 2000.
Runners-up in Group A Nigeria will square up against runners-up in Group C, which after tonight’s final group games are Cameroon.
This was after a pulsating 3-2 win by five-time African champions Cameroon over The Gambia, while the Syli Stars lost 2-0 to defending champions Senegal in a West African Derby.
Cameroon finished with four points from three matches and having scored more goals than Guinea, who also bagged four points.
Guinea will now have to play the waiting game to see if they could advance to the knockout rounds as one of four third best losers.
