The agent of Odion Ighalo, Atta Aneke, has saluted the superb work ethics and mentality of the Manchester United striker.
“He has a fantastic mentality and has always been hungry to succeed,” Aneke said in a social media interaction monitored by SCORENigeria Wednesday.
“He is humble, hard work and always put in extra training.
“Even now that he is a big player, he still works out every day with a personal trainer.”
Ighalo was one of three players Aneke scouted for Norway on his first trip as an agent in 2006.
The others were Chukwuma Akabueze and Kim Ojo.
“The players trained at Lyn Oslo, who already had Mikel Obi and Chinedu Obasi,” recounted Aneke.
“And when they sold Mikel, there was room for Ighalo.”
Aneke also described as “a big thing” Ighalo’s transfer to Manchester United.
“It’s a big thing for all of us,” he said.
“We had some discussions with United when he was doing well at Watford, but unfortunately it didn’t work out then.
“Initially, we didn’t believe that this could happen when he went to China, but along the line it came to reality.”
Ighalo, 30, has since extended his loan spell at Manchester United till January 2021 after he joined the Premier League club from Chinese club Shanghai Shensua.
