TikiTaka Nigeria showed a never-say-die spirit today to qualify to the quarterfinal of this year’s Gothia Cup in Sweden when they fought back from two goals down to beat IFK Goteborg after a penalty shootout.
After 2-2 at full time, TikiTaka Nigeria won the penalty shootout 6-5.
The Nigerian flag bearers will later today take on another Swedish club IF Brommapojkarna in the quarterfinal of the global tournament.
Goteborg shot into a two-goal lead half way through this knockout round clash, before the Nigerian lads dug deep to draw level with a minute to full time with midfielder Moses Joel grabbing the brace.
They then went on to edge the lottery of penalties.
