Still smarting from a record 5-0 spanking by Enyimba, Kano Pillars were dealt another humiliation after they fell 2-1 to Shooting Stars in front of their home fans today.
Kano Pillars came into this final Week 29 game on the front foot, being the home side and looked to threaten immediately.
The pressure paid off after just four minutes of action as NPFL Legend Rabiu Alli struck first to put the home side in the lead.
Shooting Stars fought back in the second half and Gbenga Ogunbote’s team talk paid off with Taye Murtala’s goal three minutes after the restart.
Kano Pillars thought they had been held to a disappointing draw at home, before former Flying Eagles striker Christian Pyagbara’s late winner four minutes into additional time.
Shooting Stars are now sixth on the table with 46 points, three points off Remo Stars, who are in third position.
Pillars are eighth on 41 points.
