SCORENigeria can exclusively report that the season is over for FC Nantes winger Moses Simon after he fractured his ankle during a friendly for the Super Eagles against Mali.
Moses Simon was stretchered off in the 31st minute and then taken to hospital in Marrakesh, Morocco, after he suffered the injury during a counter attack by Nigeria.
“Moses is out for at least three months, that means his season is over,” a team official disclosed.
“It’s a fracture of the upper ankle, a bad injury.”
This injury setback effectively rules him out of crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin in June.
A full international since March 2015, the Mali match was his 69th cap for Nigeria.
This season, the 28-year-old winger has scored three goals in 22 Ligue 1 appearances for relegation-troubled Nantes.
