Without a doubt this past week belonged to Victor Boniface, whose goals in the German Bundesliga have again got everyone talking about just how far he can go.
5.Osayi Samuel
Super Eagles fullback Bright Osayi-Samuel was the hero of his Turkish Super Lig side Fenerbahce as he scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win at Ankaragucu. Fenerbahce have now won all the first three games of the season. Osayi scored the only goal of the game on the hour off Edwin Dzeko’s assist.
4.Tolu Arokodare
The highly criticized striker again proved his critics wrong with a stoppage time leveler for Genk to save their blushes against visiting Anderlecht. Brussels rivals were running away with a win before Arokodare produced a pin-point header right at the death to salvage a point in this Belgian league clash. He has now scored four goals in all competitions to further boost his self-belief that there are more goals from where that came from.
3.Taiwo Awoniyi
He may not have broken a Premier League record to score in his eighth straight appearance, but he threaded the pass from which Nottingham Forest scored the match winner to give them their first ever win at Chelsea since 1995. Awoniyi and Forest clearly want to avoid being in a relegation dog fight like they were last season and they certainly are showing this with only their second away win since they returned to the Premier League.
2.Terem Moffi
Moffi has finally got off the mark in Ligue 1 for OGC Nice to record their first win of the new season against Chelsea annex club Strasbourg. The striker will certainly hedged his bets to go past his 18-goal tally of last season as his ambitious Ligue 1 club finally got their campaign off to a winning track.
1.Victor Boniface
The new Super Eagles call-up truly means business in the Bundesliga after he fired his second brace of the season for Bayer Leverkusen to thrash promoted Darmstadt and ensure a perfect start in this campaign after three rounds of matches. He now has four goals and two assists in the German top league. His invitation by the Eagles is richly deserved as he is a different type of centre-forward to Victor Osimhen and Taiwo Awoniyi. He is great on the ball and left-footed, while he also combines speed and power like his direct rivals.
