Wingers Ademola Lookman, Chidera Ejuke and Yira Sor have on the back of sparkling displays with their clubs continued to stake a claim for a place in the Super Eagles bound for the 2023 AFCON next month. Samuel Chukwueze and Moses Simon beware!
5.Yira Sor
This speed star has for the second week in a row showed he can score goals after he hit target for Genk to win 3-1 at KAS Eupen. The previous week he scored his first brace of the season for his club to draw 2-2 with Gent in another Belgian league clash. He is fast justifying why Genk splashed out a little fortune to snap him up from top Czech club Slavia Praha last year after a long-drawn transfer saga. The Super Eagles could well do with his blistering speed down the wings at the AFCON next month.

4.Chidera Ejuke
This is another winger who is hitting form in time for the AFCON. Ejuke scored again for champions Antwerp to record an important 3-1 win at Cercle Brugge in the Belgian league. This followed his heroics the previous week in the cup, where he scored for Antwerp to fight from two goals down against Charleroi and advance to the quarterfinal courtesy of a 5-2 victory. His trickery and dribbles on the flanks will continue to unlock defences and now he is also scoring goals. He is another winger who deserves a second chance with the Super Eagles.
3.Wilfred Ndidi
The midfielder has returned from injury to clearly show he is enjoying his new central attacking role after he netted his second goal in the English Championship against Plymouth Argyle. Leicester City were comfortable 4-0 winners at home to stay top of the standings and on track for a prompt return to the Premier League. Will coach Jose Peseiro give him the role he plays at his club during the AFCON?
Exquisitely done 🎨

2.Victor Boniface
The exciting striker scored again for Bayer Leverkusen to march on in the German Cup, he then grabbed his fourth straight Bundesliga Rookie of Month award, before he assisted in a 1-1 draw at Stuttgart in the league. He leads the Bundesliga table toppers in goals and assists – eight goals and six assists in 14 appearances. Overall, he has 21 goal involvements in as many matches.

1.Ademola Lookman
The forward, who has struggled to reproduce club form for the Super Eagles, was the stand-out Nigerian performer in Europe this past week after his brace helped Atalanta beat AC Milan 3-2 to end a run of four games without a win. He has now scored six goals in Serie A, not a mean feat considering he often has to play wide off the goal. He will do well to match his 13-goal tally of last season. His goals have now got Atalanta back in contention for a Top-4 finish this season.
