‘Larry’ Kayode has again proved he knows his way to goal in Turkey following his second loan spell there.
This past season, he featured for Sivasspor on loan from Shakhtar Donestsk, netting six goals and providing three assists.
His sixth goal was on the final day of the season when they beat Kasimpasa 2-1, but the result was not enough to get them a ticket in the Europa League.
The previous season, he scored 10 goals and made six assists for another Turkish Super Lig club, Gaziantep, who he failed to agree personal terms at the end of that campaign so as to extend his time there.
He was ranked No 16 in the previous edition of SCORENigeria TOP 30.
Sivasspor placed fifth in the Super Lig standings and will play in the newly created UEFA Conference League as a result in the new season.
However, the highlight of his season was achieved in the UEFA Europa League, where he scored four goals for the Turkish club to drop out in the group stage of the competition.
Kayode may still not have a future at Shakhtar come the new season and that could well mean another loan spell away from the Ukrainian giants.
His transfer market value is put at 3.7 Million Euros.
Gernot Rohr has not recalled ‘Larry’ to the Super Eagles after four caps and it appears that now at 28 his chances of international football are no longer bright after his debut more than four years ago.
