Samuel Kalu will not be part of Bordeaux pre-season training camp, which steps up today, because he is still stranded in Nigeria no thanks to the travel restrictions caused by the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Kalu, 22, has not been able to fly back to France because ban on international travel out of Nigeria has yet to be lifted.
Bordeaux have also said they are in the dark about the winger, who they bought from Belgian club KAA Gent in 2018.
Kalu faces an uncertain future at the Ligue 1 club after he failed to justify his big-money transfer.
Speculations have been rife that he could well be loaned out with Galatasaray listed among his likely destination soon.
