Leke James netted his sixth goal of the season as champions Molde FK stayed within striking distance of table toppers Bodo/Glimt with a 4-0 win at Stromgodset.
Does that enhance his chances of getting a Super Eagles call-up?
5.Cyriel Dessers
Super Eagles new boy opened his goals account for new club Genk to beat Dutch club Excelsior 4-1 in a pre-season friendly. Dessers was unhappy when he fired blanks on his debut earlier last week, but no one could deny him the joy of finally getting on the scoreboard as his Belgian step up preparation for the new season next month.
4.Samuel Eduok
Hadjuk Split look set to feature in next season’s UEFA Europa League thanks in part to the goals of their Nigeria striker Eduok. Eduok scored again for the club in a 3-2 loss against HNK Rijeka. It was his tenth goal of the season.
3.Ishaq Abdulrazak
‘Golden Boy’ grabbed his first-ever goal in Europe when he came off the bench in the closing minutes to add some respectability to a 4-2 loss at Sirius. However, his club Norrkoping remain top of the standings in Sweden, four points clear of Malmo.
2.Victor Boniface
The 19-year-old centre-forward justified his first start of the campaign with a goal and an assist for Bodo/Glimt to maintain a perfect record of nine wins in as many matches. His Norwegian club are flying and that can only be good for the confidence of the Flying Eagles striker, who has put behind him an injury-troubled first season in Europe.
1.Leke James
The experienced striker has continued to find the back of the net with his sixth goal of the new season for Molde FK to win comfortably 4-0 at Stromgodset. With the rate he is putting away the goals, he could well surpass the 15-goal tally he achieved last season. He is most certainly one striker to keep an eye on.
