Sadiq Umar today enhanced his chances of getting a first-ever Super Eagles call-up after he scored his 13th goal for UD Almeria and also provided an assist in Spain.
Former Nigeria U23 star Umar made up for a missed penalty by scoring on 11 minutes to open the scores at home against Lugo.
He will go on to assist for his team’s fourth goal in the 75th minute.
Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has already mentioned the tall striker is being monitored by the national team scout and could get his maiden call-up for AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho in March.

Today’s win consolidated Almeria third place in the standings with 52 points, two points behind leaders Mallorca.
