Defensive midfielder Adewale Oladoye was one of the bright spots with a battling performance as the Flying Eagles were forced to a 1-1 draw by Cote d’Ivoire in an U20 AFCON qualifier Sunday.
The towering midfielder, nicknamed ‘Patrick Vieira’ after the former Arsenal star, kept in check the Ivorian attack to ensure Nigeria got a result on the opening day of action in Group B.
His long balls, big engine, aerial prowess and maturity have already excited several scouts from overseas at the U20 AFCON qualifying tournament in Port Novo, his representatives said.
Oladoye is again expected to be at his best on Wednesday when the Flying Eagles do battle with arch-rivals Ghana in a crucial Group B clash.
