Paul Onuachu will start for Genk in tonight’s UEFA Champions third qualifying round clash at home against Shakhtar Donetsk after he was dropped for a league game at the weekend.
Fellow Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers has returned to the subs’ bench as a result.
Coach John Van den Brom said he dropped Onuachu from the weekend’s game at home against KV Oostende because he was “not ready” but did not rule him out of the Champions League clash.
In Onuachu’s absence, Dessers led the Genk attack and provided his second assist of the season.
Onuachu, 27, has yet to make his widely expected transfer to a major league after he scored 35 goals in all competitions last season.
Genk said they are yet to receive a bid that matched their 30 Million Euros valuation of the giant striker.
