Several top officials have informed SCORENigeria that NPFL clubs have been told to ignore an order by anti-graft agency EFCC demanding to know the amount of sponsorship monies they have received from the League Management Company (LMC) in the last 10 years.

The investigation is for alleged diversion of funds, official corruption and stealing.
In a letter dated March 4,2020, signed by Ibrahim Musa and addressed to the various state Football Associations, the EFCC demanded all NPFL clubs to provide it with certified true copy of sponsorship monies they have so far received from the LMC.
“The clubs have simply been told not to co-operate with this investigation so as not to expose the LMC,” one top official told SCORENigeria
“It’s like a similar letter to the FAs from the same anti-corruption agency last year asking to know whether they benefited from a development fund and also a seminar organised by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), which ran into many millions of Naira.”
It would be recalled that several top clubs raised alarm over missing prize monies and other grants many seasons after their top placings in the NPFL.
However, another official cautioned that refusal of the clubs to co-operate with the EFCC could also land them in hot water. “It means they are part of the conspiracy and that they can also go in for it,” he sounded a note of warning.
