Highly rated Azeez Olalekan Balogun is set to join top Brazilian club Sao Paulo next month after he was scouted in a tournament organised in Ibadan this year.
The 2021 Football Scouting Tournament was staged in May at the University of Ibadan Stadium.
It was organised by Amigos Worldwide Sport Consultants, namely Jelili Oladimeji and his partner Diego Martins in conjunction with Dapo Fagbenle.
Azeez, from Unique Futbol Academy Ibadan and who clocked 18 in November, will soon team up with Sao Paulo when his travel and work papers have been perfected.
Various media reports out of Brazil said the young striker will start out with the U20s, who are coached by former Brazil star Alex and were runners-up in the Brazilian championship last season.
