Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun has been shipped out on loan by Premier League side Brighton to Wigan in the English Championship.
The loan move was on transfer deadline day Friday and it would be hoped that will earn him a recall to the national team after he has been overlooked by coach Gernot Rohr lately.
Balogun, 31, has struggled for game time at Brighton and this has not been helped by injuries.
This season, he has yet to feature in the league, making an appearance each in the FA Cup and EFL Cup.
The central defender moved to Brighton on a free transfer from Germany in July 2018.
