Everton ace Alex Iwobi will be back in action in two weeks after he suffered an ankle injury that many feared could sideline him for long.
Various reports quoted a close source to Iwobi as saying scan results showed the player was lucky not to suffer a major injury when he was tackled badly in Friday’s FA Cup Third Round tie at Manchester United.
Iwobi was in tears and had to be stretchered off after the injury.
Everton boss Frank Lampard said he hope the injury was “not too serious”.
This should therefore be a huge relief for his club as well as the Super Eagles, who face Guinea Bissau in a double-headed AFCON qualifier in March.
This season, Iwobi has shone for Everton, who are battling to stay up in the Premier League.
He is soon to be rewarded with a new contract.
