Swedish club IFK Goteborg have said new signing Ifeoluwa Olowoporoku is one for the future.
The 18-year-old central midfielder from Ibadan-based Tripple 44 has signed a three-year contract with IFK after successful trials.
“We see this signing in the longer term and not a player who will make an impact this year,” said IFK football director Jesper Jansson.:
“He is a young and developable player that we, along with our coaches and other tools, will work a lot with.”
David Vukovic, IFK Goteborg top scout, added: “He is a small but very intense central midfielder who can play both higher up and further down the midfield.
“We have seen him up close in the field and got to know him in our environment where we have seen both his strengths and what he needs to develop.
“We work both long-term and short-term in our squad planning to balance the results here and now while also wanting to create space for that type of player as well as players from our own academy.”
