Hilary Gong has told SCORENigeria he is pleased Vitesse Arnhem secured a 2-2 draw at home with champions Ajax Amsterdam on the opening day of the season in Holland.
“I am glad we got off on a good note. We drew with the defending champions, they are a team to be reckoned with. Considering what they achieved in the Champions League last season, I’ll say we put up a good fight,” Gong said.
“We hope to consolidate in our next match to get the maximum points.”
The 20-year-old Gong was a 66th minute substitute for Vitesse and was involved in his team’s second goal.
Last season, the exciting winger made six appearances for Vitesse following his transfer from Slovakia.
