Victor Osimhen today became the first African to be crowned Goal King of Italy.
Serie A has welcomed the likes of one-time World Footballer of the Year George Weah, Samuel Eto’o and Obafemi Martins, but it was Osimhen who became the first striker from Africa to finish top scorer of the top league.
Tonight, he scored his 26th Serie A goal of the season from the penalty spot against Sampdoria for Napoli to win 2-0.
He has now scored a total of 50 goals in his three seasons in Italy.
NFF Chairman Ibrahim Gusau was at the Sampdoria game to celebrate with the Super Eagles star, who brought out his daughter and wife to be part of the celebrations on the final day of the season.
