Genk have tabled a bid for Super Eagles new boy Cyriel Dessers as they hope to strengthen their strike force for the new season just as Dutch club Heracles have placed a six million Euros price tag on the striker, according to Het Belang van Limburg.
Dessers, who finished as joint top scorer in the Dutch league this past aborted season with 15 goals, has already been linked with Turkish champions Galatasaray as well as Torino in the Italian Serie A.
According to media reports, Genk still want to fill the void caused by the departure of Tanzania captain Ally Samatta to Aston Villa as costly replacements Paul Onuachu and Stephen Odey have yet to justify their expensive price tags.
“Cyriel is young, Belgian, versatile and scores goals and he proved that last season. He also is from Limburg. So, he has the ideal profile,” an official remarked.
However, it is left to be seen whether Genk can stomp up Heracles asking price of six million Euros especially in this times of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
Dessers, whose father is Belgian, has previously played for Belgian clubs Lokeren and OHL before he moved to Holland.
