SCORENigeria can report that star midfielder Daniel Daga will miss tomorrow night’s crucial U20 AFCON Group A match against hosts Egypt due to injury, while coach Ladan Bosso will ring changes to his starting XI.
Daga injured his knee in the U20 AFCON opening game against Senegal, which forced him out just before half time.
“Daga is out of tomorrow’s game against Egypt,” a top team official disclosed.
“But he will be available for selection by the time we qualify for the quarterfinals, hopefully.”
Daga’s absence will force coach Bosso to ring changes in the team that will start against Egypt.
Direct replacement for the Dakkada FC star will either be Jonathan Nicholas or Caleb Ochedikwu, whose transformation has delighted Bosso.
There are likely to be changes also upfront after the strikers failed to fire against Senegal on Sunday night in Cairo.
Winger Ibrahim Mohammed ‘Beji’ was too individualistic on the day and the more purposeful Emmanuel Uchegbo could get his chance from the first whistle.
Questions are also being asked whether the mesmerising Jude Sunday will start from the onset.
