SCORENigeria can exclusively report today that at least three key players of the Golden Eaglets have failed the mandatory MRI age test.
Several top sources revealed that this followed an order by the team for all the players in the Eaglets training camp to do their own private MRI tests before an official is conducted later by the NFF.
“Three key players who were in Ghana for the WAFU qualifiers failed the age test,” a source told SCORENigeria
“The team now want to wait for the NFF to do their own age test before they will decide on these players.”
The NFF have already ordered that only players with not higher than grade 4 will be considered for the Golden Eaglets.
CAF and FIFA have adopted a zero tolerance to age-cheating and will now ban a team should a player fail the age test.
The 2023 U17 AFCON will be staged in Algeria in April with the four top teams advancing to the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup in Peru in December.
