The country’s U20s, the Flying Eagles, have opened training camp in Abuja ahead of next month’s 12th All Africa Games in Rabat, Morocco.
The team, who reached the knockout rounds of the FIFA U20 World Cup in Poland earlier this year, will train under goalkeeper trainer Sulaiman Shuaibu pending the arrival of coach Paul Aigbogun from his base in London.
Babawo Mohammed, Success Makanjuola, Emeka Chinonso, Ama John, Detan Ogundare and Matthew Yakubu are among the 17 players already in camp.
The Flying Eagles are drawn against hosts Morocco, South Africa and Burkina Faso in Group A of the All Africa Games.
Four years ago, the country won a bronze medal at the continental games in Congo Brazzaville.
