The Flying Eagles have shot their way to the semifinals of the U20 AFCON qualifying series in Niger after a bruising 2-2 draw with Burkina Faso, but striker Ahmed Abdullahi had to be rushed to hospital when he collapsed on the pitch.
The Junior Eagles led 1-0 by half time through revelation Ibrahim Mohammed for his second goal of the competition.
However, the robust-playing Burkinabes then drew level through a penalty, before Nigeria regained the lead also from the penalty spot.
The drama was far from over as Burkina Faso then forced a 2-2 draw and substitute striker Abdullahi had to be attended to by medics right on the pitch and then taken to hospital after he fell on his own soon after he had been fouled by the opposing goalkeeper.
Officials will later confirm that he has come through.
The Flying Eagles now have four points in this three-team group to book their passage to the last four.
A place in the tournament final will guarantee them qualification for the AFCON proper in Egypt early next year.
Burkina Faso now only need a draw against Ghana to eliminate the defending champions.
