The Flying Eagles will be without impressive leftback Odinaka Okoro in the U20 AFCON third-place match after he picked up his second booking in the knockout rounds of the tournament.
The Sporting Lagos defender was booked against Senegal in the quarterfinal before he also got into the referee’s bad books today against South Africa.
Okoro and captain Daniel Bameyi made the CAF Best XI for the group stage of the competition.
Nigeria will play the losers of the second semifinal between Morocco and hosts Egypt in the classification match.
All four semifinalists have qualified for the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile in September.
