Flying Eagles coach Ladan Bosso has called up 35 players for training camp ahead of the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup.
The majority of the call-ups featured at the recent U20 AFCON in Egypt, where the Flying Eagles placed third to qualify for the World Cup.
Officials told SCORENigeria that the training camp in Abuja will open in the new week after some uncertainties.
The invitees are all based at home, while foreign-based invitees will begin to fly in a week after.
“The camp will open either on Monday or Tuesday with the approval of technical department and the NFF secretariat,” an official disclosed.
The resumption of the camp has been delayed severally because the NFF were waiting for FIFA to announce new hosts for the U20 World Cup after they stripped Indonesia of the hosting rights following a political row.
Argentina have been widely tipped to step in as new hosts.
This year’s U20 World Cup was originally slated to begin on May 20, but it is now left to be seen whether a new kick-off date will be announced when a new host country is named.
