The Falconets got off to a winning start in this year’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica early this morning when they stunned France by a lone goal.
Flourish Sebastine, who netted seven goals in the qualifiers, was the match winner courtesy of a superb 85th minute strike.
It was a brilliant solo goal as she got to a through ball by Mercy Idoko, before she ran through the French defence to fire an unstoppable left-footed shot beyond the goalkeeper.

The game had to be stopped after 20 minutes due to heavy rain, which made visibility difficult.
The stoppage lasted an hour after which both teams went at each other in search of a goal.
France thought they had opened scoring 10 minutes from time, but VAR disallowed the goal because of an infringement.
The Falconets, who played good football with a lot of confidence, will then carry the day five minutes from full time.
Nigeria will next tackle Korea Republic Sunday in continuation of the competition.
