A top expert has said he could not understand why Rosenborg let go Igho Ogbu because the former Flying Eagles defender has all the makings of a top player in the Norwegian top flight.
This summer, Ogbu moved on a permanent basis to Norwegian second division club Sogndal after a successful loan spell there last season.
However, football expert Amund Lutneas said he still cannot understand why Rosenborg sold Igho, who played at last year’s U20 World Cup in Poland.
“Top of my list of players (who should not have been sold) is of course Igoh Ogbu,” he said.
“I cannot fathom and understand why Rosenborg sold him to Sogndal.
“Ogbu is a very good defender in the lower league, who is clearly good enough for the top league in Norway.
“He has a contract till 2022 and that means he could soon become a major transfer target.”
Sogndal are currently third on the second division table with 47 points after 25 matches, nine points behind leaders Tromso.
