CAF have banned Enyimba captain Austin Oladapo for a year after he tested positive for a prohibited performance-enhancing drug.
CAF announced the player’s dope test revealed the use of a prohibited steroid Prenisolone.
The ban comes into effect from July 4, 2021, according to a statement by CAF.
Both Enyimba and Oladapo have said they will not contest the result of the dope test.
The test was conducted after a 2021 CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal first leg match between hosts Pyramids FC of Egypt and Enyimba on May 16.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder scored three goals in this year’s CAF Confederation Cup after Enyimba were knocked out by Pyramids FC 5-2 on aggregate in the quarterfinal.
