Excited Emmanuel Godwin has said he believes he has taken the next step in his career after he completed his transfer to Czech club FK Pardubice.
The central defender quit relegated Swedish club Trelleborgs to sign for Pardubice in a contract that runs until the summer of 2030.
“It has been two and a half fantastic years at Trelleborgs FF. During my time here I have had the opportunity to develop both as a player and as a person, and from day one I was welcomed with open arms. You showed me love even during the most difficult times,” he told the website of the Swedish club.
“Even though we did not manage to stay in Superettan this year, I hope the team is back as soon as possible.
“I would also like to thank Salif Camara Jonsson, who saw me in Ibadan three years ago and then brought me here for a trial and gave me the opportunity to show what I could do.
“You gave me incredible support from day one when you picked me up at Kastrup. Your support both on and off the pitch has helped me enormously, and I couldn’t have wished for a better sports manager. Many thanks!
“And to all our supporters: it’s time for me to take the next step in my career, but Trelleborgs FF will always be in my heart.”
