Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has confirmed that Udinese defender William Ekong will miss Saturday’s AFCON warm-up against Zimbabwe as he was not expected in the team’s training till the weekend.
“He will only join us at the weekend,” Rohr told SCORENigeria
China-based striker Odion Ighalo may also miss the Zimbabwe test as he is only expected later this week in camp in Asaba.
He has been nursing a hamstring injury, which has sidelined him for several weeks.
Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi is also being expected, while Ahmed Musa and Shehu Abdullahi were excused to join the squad on Wednesday after the Muslim Sallah celebrations.
Twenty players trained Monday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba with the likes of Henry Onyekuru, Samuel Chukwueze and Kelechi Iheanacho among the latest arrivals.
