Lagos-born Bournemouth forward Arnaut Danjuma has been named Player of the Month for April in the English Championship.
Danjuma beat another player with Nigerian roots – Barnsley striker Daryl Dike – among several other nominees.
The 24-year-old Danjuma has been outstanding for AFC Bournemouth having scored five goals in the month of April and gave five assists.
The elated forward said he is delighted to win the prestigious award.
“I’m very happy to lift this trophy and very happy with the way I’ve been playing,” he said.
“If I can contribute to the team and help them to get the wins then I’m happy, and I feel like I’ve been doing that.”
Danjuma also wrote on his Instagram account about the award – “I reach for the stars, And If I miss a star, I will grab a handful of cloud. Alhamdulilahi.”
