Some amazing revelations have been made as regards the journey of Terem Moffi from little Lithuania all the way to stardom in the French Ligue 1.
For starters, the young striker was contacted on Facebook by the sports director of FK Riteriai to sign for them after his first stint with another Lithuanian club FK Kaunas Zalgiris.
“The last game I played with Kaunas was against this club. And it turned out that I really had a great game. Back in Nigeria, I received a message from the club’s sports director on Facebook saying that they were looking for a player like me,” Moffi himself explained.
He will go on and paint Lithuania with goals leading to a transfer to Belgian club KV Kortrijk in January 2020.
And after five goals in Belgium, FC Lorient splashed a record eight million Euros to sign him in October.
Interestingly, the scouts of the Ligue 1 club could not travel to Belgium to watch him live in action no thanks to the Coronavirus Pandemic, they had to rely on his video clips to decide if they were ready to take this gamble.

“We discovered this player, and we watched all his matches,” recalled former attacking midfielder Stéphane Pédron, a member of the FCL scouting team.
“Unfortunately, with the Coronavirus, we were unable to travel to watch him play live, but a lot of video work was done. Even going to meet him in person was not possible.
“We went through his matches well, and we were convinced that he was the player we needed. He had not played many matches in Belgium, but sometimes you have to know how to take risks.”
The result of the gamble thus far is 15 goals in all competitions by Moffi in one of the Top 5 major leagues in Europe.
